Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 5, 2026
Protecting your personal data matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is processed when you use Dictem (the "Service") in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Controller
The controller within the meaning of the GDPR is:
CITO GmbH, Jungfrauenthal 8, 20149 Hamburg, Germany
E-Mail: info@dictem.com
2. Data we process
a) When visiting the website
When you access our website, our hosting provider automatically collects information (server log files) such as your IP address, the date and time of access, the page requested, browser type and operating system. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure, stable operation (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR).
b) When using Dictem Studio
When you upload content (text or audio files) for localization, that content is processed to produce the translations, voice-overs, songs, videos, and marketing copy you request. This processing is carried out to provide the service you requested (Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR).
3. Use of AI services (processors)
For transcription, translation, speech and music generation, video generation, and marketing copy, we use Google's programming interface (Google Gemini, including the Lyria and Veo models). The content you provide is transmitted to and processed by Google for this purpose. This may involve a transfer to third countries (in particular the USA); appropriate safeguards within the meaning of Art. 44 et seq. GDPR (e.g. EU Standard Contractual Clauses) are observed. Please only upload content for which you hold the necessary rights.
If you connect a third-party distribution service (e.g. Buzzsprout) by entering your own API credentials, the audio and metadata you choose to publish are transmitted to that provider on your instruction. Your credentials are stored only in your browser and sent solely to carry out a publish action you trigger.
4. Cookies and analytics
In this MVP stage the Service uses no non-essential cookies and no advertising tracking. Should analytics or marketing services be introduced in future, this will only take place on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR), and this policy will be updated accordingly.
5. Retention
Uploaded content and generated results are processed only for as long as necessary to provide the service and are then deleted, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have, in particular, the following rights:
- access to the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- objection to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)
- withdrawal of consent with effect for the future
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).
7. Contact for data protection
